About The Position
The Project Manager for Overhead Lines will function in a project manager capacity. You will own the bottom-line for projects encompassing VHV and HV. This role reports to the Project Director. In addition to your specialist experience, you must also be an efficient organizer, assertive, a capable communicator and a team player.
Job overview:
- Initiation, Planning, Monitoring, Executing, and Closing Projects — defining the project, Cost Baseline and OBS structure, initiating the project, building its comprehensive work plan, controlling and managing to the risks, scope, schedule and budget, according to international high standards of the PMI BoK®.
- Managing Teams — facilitating commitment and productivity, removing obstacles.
- Implementation and Management of Quality and Environmental Process and procedures on all projects focusing on meeting the project KPI’s.

- Defining plant specific requirements for the OHL VHV and HV, especially defining single line diagrams and HV substation layouts.
- Approval and checking of OHL equipment documentation.
- Supervision and quality checks during the OHL VHV and HV executions and its auxiliary system for installation process.
- Quality control by taking part in factory acceptance test (FAT) and on-site operational tests (SAT) for the OHL materials and equipment.
- Controlling the entire technical implementation process, from drafting tender documents to awarding contracts and accepting delivery from customers and contracting parties.
- Actively collaborating with Project Director, drawing up reports, budget forecasts and schedules, attending construction meetings, placing orders under framework agreements.
- Ensuring that technical customer requirements are implemented and compliance with the relevant guidelines and regulations in accordance with all safety regulations.
- Drawing up comparisons of technical and economic alternatives and doing preparatory work for cost-intensive investment decisions.
- Managing a team of engineers / experts and supervise the construction of projects in accordance with the Design specification, project’s criteria, and country regulations by ensuring the safety, quality and execution in the time and budget, to guarantee the client’s satisfaction.
- Daily, weekly and monthly follow-up with Project Management Team (PMT), Subcontractors of all engineering, procurement, and field activities.
- Weekly meetings with Subcontractors to ensure the progress of execution works at field and good coordination between participants.
- Manage and coordinate the PMT, to all the HSE procedures at site and make the periodic reports.
Requirements
- BSc / Engineering Degree in Electrical or Electrotechnical Engineering (Project Management Certificate is a Plus).
- Minimum of least 10 years’ experience in coordination of projects with OHL (Over Head Lines) VHV and HV (preferential in Africa).
- Proven track record and experience in leading a team in a highly complex and multidisciplinary technical environment.
- Ability to lead and build teams and multiple internal partners.
- Experience advancing competitive procurements.
- Self-motivated, creative thinker who can manage and deliver on tight deadlines with changing priorities.
- Able to promote trust; work within a matrix environment, including collaboration within diverse, geographically dispersed teams.
- Interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with ability to communicate to customers, key external stakeholders and at executive levels as required.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, organization and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project, and Visio)
- Languages: Fluent Portuguese and English - mandatory.
- Willingness to work and live in Angola province (Uíge).
