Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical/Biomedical Engineer to oversee the definition, installation, and commissioning of medical equipment in hospital environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of technicians and medical specialists on-site, ensuring the professional installation of medical equipment in compliance with manufacturer guidelines and industry protocols. Additionally, the role involves supervision of Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) system installation works to ensure seamless integration with medical equipment. This role requires extensive travel to the provinces.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of technicians and medical specialists during the installation and commissioning of medical equipment.
- Ensure all medical equipment is installed professionally and in accordance with manufacturers' guidelines and industry standards.
- Supervise and oversee the M&E system installation works, ensuring proper interface and provisions for medical equipment.
- Coordinate with hospital administrators, contractors, and vendors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Perform quality assurance checks and safety evaluations on installed equipment.
- Provide technical expertise in troubleshooting, maintenance, and system optimization.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, hospital policies, and applicable medical equipment standards.
- Document installation processes, performance reports, and technical evaluations for internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Engineering, or a related field.
- Certifications in medical equipment installation or project management.
- Proven experience in medical equipment installation, commissioning, and maintenance in hospital settings.
- Experience working with multiple hospital departments and external vendors
- Knowledge of M&E system installations and their integration with medical equipment.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements for medical devices.
- Great leadership and project management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and coordination abilities.
- Must be fully fluent in English with a basic level of Portuguese.
- Ability to work on-site and travel as required.
